The United Arab Emirates played a crucial role in facilitating the organization of the 50th exchange of prisoners of war for Ukraine, as reported by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

In this exchange, Ukraine successfully repatriated 207 soldiers, including 95 representatives of the Armed Forces, 56 National Guardsmen, 26 border guards, 29 Territorial Defence soldiers, and one member of the National Police. The age range of the rescued servicemen spans from the oldest at 61 years old to the youngest at 20.

Since the commencement of the full-scale invasion, a total of 3,035 Ukrainian defenders have been released from Russian captivity.

The 50th prisoner exchange, which occurred on January 31, marks a significant milestone after a prolonged hiatus. The largest exchange during the full-scale invasion took place on January 3, with 230 Ukrainians (225 men and 5 women) being released from captivity, while the occupiers received 248 of their people.
